butt heiny

Some of my favorite conversations with Ava are on the way home from the train when they come and pick me up. I love to hear all about her day.  Here was our conversation tonight:

Ava: "I got to hold the guinea pig today. I always get the boy one and Tristin gets the girl one....they have boobies and this pink thing."
us: "uh"
Ava: "the butt heiny. It's a really tiny butt heiny. like a little little tiny tiny tiny hole. Even smaller than Logan's hole."
us: laughing

Some other random comments:
Ava: "We played present and wrapped them up. Well - they like dark places. I'll wash my hands when I get in so I don't get guinea pig germs on the toys."

LOVE this girl.

Birthday Girl

My little baby girl is 4 today! Wowsers...where did it go?! I switched my work schedule to be home with my Ava and then Brian ended up having a snow day! What a nice surprise to spend Ava's special day all together. We had a yummy birthday breakfast, played in the snow, went out for special hot chocolate and warm soup and finished the night with cupcakes and presents! What a lovely day.

Ava was so excited to get special birthday phone and text messages all day long.  She is so blessed to be loved well by so many special friends and family.

Happy Happy Birthday Ava. I love you with all my heart.

Ava Adventures

I woke up in the morning and heard Ava playing upstairs so I went up to say hi. Right at the top of the stairs Ava was stuffing her backpack and before I could even ask a question she blurted out -
"I'm going to Egypt."
me: "O"
Ava: "I'm trying to get this all in here because its a hoy and away."
me: "O wow- why are you going to Egypt?"
Ava: "Because when we got back from Main I looked in and there were 55 people in here so we have to go to Egypt."
Me: "Egypt is a loooong way"
Ava: "Can you drive? Because you are the grow up"

So she and Logan got on her big floor pillow and I sat on the rocking chair right next to them and started to drive. I did tell her how long it would take and that we would have to take a ship across the ocean. So she immediately said- "Well than this is a plane"- and waved her hand like a magic wand. If only everything were that easy :)  Here is Ava and her sidekick on the plane to Egypt.

Faboolus

I was sitting on the couch today - checking some emails and Ava started to brush my cheeks with my blush brush. Of course she was talking a mile a minute. My favorite quote was this "I had to do this because you didn't look really faboolus. So I did it so you could look faboolus."

Little did I know she actually had the blush out too...what do you think? Do I look faboolus or what?!

Its a Whole New World

Well...here she is 6 months old already! My little loggie bear. She is sitting up tall these days and all by herself. I'm a proud mama.

outdoor dreams

Brian and I would love to spend more active time outdoors as a family this year.  We love the outdoors but somewhere along the line we've gotten a little too comfy at home. Sometimes it seems easier then going through the effort of getting two little ones out the door. But this year - we want to get our butts moving. There are so many good things about this idea...1) it's a way for Ava to spend some of her abundant energy 2) It's a nice stress reliver for me  3) It's full of exciting teachable moments 4) It's active and best of all 5) it's free!

We kicked off our resolution with a little snowy hike at Ridley Creek. I was surprised by just how enjoyable it actually was. Lets just hope this keeps up.

Happy New Year!

Happy 2011. I am excited for a new year. How about you?
